Strategy
Tide and Timber
★★★★☆ 4.3
Tide and Timber is a slow, thoughtful strategy game about keeping a string of coastal towns alive. You manage food, timber, and workers while the tide slowly reclaims your land, and every decision has a cost you'll feel three turns later.
There's no timer pressure, which suits the mood. I played most of it in ten-minute chunks, planning a harbour here, moving families there. The economy is tight enough that mistakes hurt but never feel unfair.
It won't grab people who want constant action, but if you like watching a small plan come together, it's quietly excellent.
What we liked
- Relaxed, no-timer pacing
- Meaningful economic decisions
- Clean, readable interface
