Emberwind Saga
★★★★★ 4.6
Emberwind Saga is the kind of RPG I didn't expect to fit on a phone. You build a party of four, wander a fractured kingdom, and fight turn-based battles that lean on positioning as much as raw stats. It's not huge, but it's dense, and the writing has actual personality.
Combat clicks fast. Each character has a couple of skills and a limited energy pool, so every turn is a small puzzle. I lost a few early fights simply because I didn't respect enemy formations, and learning to read them turned the whole game around.
Save points are generous, sessions can be short, and the story branches enough that two of us on the team ended up with different endings. That's a lot of care for an indie mobile title.
What we liked
- Tactical turn-based fights
- Branching story with real endings
- Short sessions, big world
